Tree and Shrub Program
The Goal - Healthier, more plentiful, more productive trees and shrubs

The Plan - A full year of treatments involving the following applications:

1)      Late Winter/Early Spring (scheduled sometime in February or March):
Application of Dormant (Horticultural) Oil

HappyLawnTM applies horticultural oil to your trees and shrubs to prevent the hatching of tree and shrub-eating insects, which spend the winter in egg form. The oil acts to clog the egg pores, thereby suffocating the eggs. Affecting only the insect eggs and in no way poisonous or otherwise hazardous, this preventative application is effective against all kinds of insects.

2)      Mid Spring (late April - May):
Deep-Root Fertilization and Systemic Insect Control

Once leaves start coming back, HappyLawnTM performs deep-root feeding and problem prevention through injection. These high-pressure injections deep into the trunks and root system shoot through the "bloodstream" of your trees to prevent insects. At the same time, the injection of liquid fertilizer directly into the root systems of each tree and shrub feeds your landscape through the summer. The end result? Better flowering, more heightened color, less long-term damage, fewer hatching insects, better overall health.

3)      Early and Late Summer (June - July):
Insect and Disease IPM Control Treatment

Our curative spot spray is designed to control current insect and disease problems. Utilizing an Integrated Pest Management philosophy, we only treat problem areas, not the entire property.

4)      Early Fall (August - mid-September):
Insect and Disease IPM Treatment

A curative, spot treatment for insects and diseases utilizing Integrated Pest Management (IPM).

5)      Fall (mid-September - October):
Fall Feeding

A granular application of a balanced fertilizer which helps to ease the plants' transition to dormancy by providing essential nutrients.

6)      Winter (November - December):
Winter Wax Application

After the leaves have fallen, HappyLawnTM applies an anti-candescent spray of winter or foliar wax to protect evergreens such as hemlock, spruce, pines and firs against winter burn from the wind. Also, when the soil is frozen during winter, these trees are in danger of dehydration. Our spray wax treatment helps prevent water evaporation.
